reggiewilliamsFree-agent NFL wide receiver Reggie Williams was sentenced to two years of probation for cocaine possession in a Houston case in which a Taser was used to subdue him this week.

Williams pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance Monday. A judge sentenced Williams to deferred adjudication. This means that, if he completes his probation successfully, there will be no conviction. If he violates his probation and has it revoked, the judge has the full range of punishment at his or her disposal. One of his probation conditions will be random drug testing.

Williams was arrested in April when he allegedly refused to leave a bar. An off-duty police officer used a Taser on Williams. Williams previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars but is currently a free agent.
