hasselhoff-drunkDavid Hasselhoff’s ex-wife, actress Pamela Bach, has asked their divorce judge to enter an order requiring Hasselhoff to maintain life insurance, which would pay her spousal support if he dies.

Hasselhoff opposes the request, saying it wasn’t part of the settlement agreement they reached last year to end their divorce.

I’m guessing that Bach will use Hasselhoff’s alleged alcohol poisoning event last week as some sort of argument that her support is at risk. I don’t foresee a judge granting this though.

While it is not unusual for someone to be ordered to (or agree to) buy life insurance to cover child support or spousal support in the event of a death, it is almost always part of the original divorce decree. Hindsight is 20/20 and judges rarely modify decrees just because someone thought better of something later on…
