Okay, Perez. Twice in one day?! Come on.
Perez Hilton is under the false impression that an initial “not guilty” plea is some sort of indication that a criminal defendant wants people to believe he is innocent. And, as we mentioned here earlier, that’s just not the case. It makes for a dramatic blog post, sure. But it’s inaccurate and untruthful.
This afternoon, Perez reported that Redmond O’Neal pleaded not guilty to his newest drug charges. Perez says: “O’Neal must be suffering delusion or bitchassness! The former rehaber just pleaded Not Guilty on Wednesday in a Los Angeles County courthouse to his felony drug charges. Let’s guess, the drugs found on him, weren’t his. They were a friend’s?”
Dude. Calm down. Like we mentioned before, a “not guilty” plea at this point just means that he’s not ready to plead guilty. He can certainly go to trial if he wants to and if it’s appropriate. But even if he eventually pleads guilty (which he probably will do), he’s gonna start off with a “not guilty” plea. It just allows everyone involved more time to dig into the case and decide how best to resolve it.
Mountain out of less than a mole hill. Relax, Perez.
