Former “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison settled the wrongful death lawsuit brought by the parents of Vahagn Setian, the 17-year-old killed in car crash caused by the actor in 2006. Garrison was drunk and high on cocaine at the time of the fatal collision.
Garrison also reportedly settled with one of the survivors of the crash. Michelle Ohana, 15 at the time of the crash, spent two months in a wheelchair afterward.
The amount of each settlement has not been disclosed and is likely confidential by the terms of the settlement.
Garrison was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter and two other alcohol-related charges in relation to the crash and is currently serving a 40 month sentence. According to the California Department of Corrections, Garrison is now eligible for parole and will likely be released from confinement later this spring.
I imagine he will be released to a halfway house and will have a long term of probation with strict conditions including drug and alcohol treatment and abstinence.
