Just in the nick of time, bartender William Pressler filed a lawsuit today in Los Angeles against actor Jamie Foxx, his production company Foxxhole, Belvedere Vodka and event space Social Hollywood for injuries Pressler allegedly suffered while working a party for the defendants. The injury occurred two years ago today – meaning that today was the last possible day to file suit under California’s statute of limitations.
Pressler was allegedly hired to serve at an after-party for Foxx’s “Unpredictable Tour.” Belvedere, a corporate sponsor of the event, provided a fully-sculptured ice bar. Pressler claims the ice bar was unsecured and unsafe.
The lawsuit claims that venue management kicked broken glass near the bar and never cleaned it up. Pressler then slipped and fell due to the unsecure bar and cut his hand. Pressler – get this – claims he intended to become a brain surgeon but had to abandon his career due to the severe hand injury.
He is suing for gross negligence, false promise, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
