CSI Miami star David Caruso has been sued by his ex-girlfriend/baby momma Liza Marquez. Marquez is suing in Los Angeles County Superior Court for breach of contract/settlement agreement, fraud, and intentional infliction of emotional distress (stemming from alleged domestic abuse).
Caruso and Marquez met on the set of CSI Miami in 2004. They allegedly began living together shortly thereafter and had their first child in September 2005. Marquez gave birth to a second child in October 2007. After that child was born, Caruso allegedly served Marquez with a paternity action and ended their relationship.
Marquez claims that the couple maintained a “marriage-like relationship” from September 2004 through September 2007, during which time Marquez claims Caruso emotionally abused her over interactions and conversations with other men.
Marquez alleges that Caruso asked her to terminate her first pregnancy and admitted that “fatherhood was not for him” after learning of the second pregnancy. She also claims that Caruso had a relationship with another woman while Marquez was pregnant.
The lawsuit also alleges that Caruso agreed to pay Marquez $1,000,000 plus attorney’s fees to settle any potential legal issues, but after multiple revisions to a proposed paternity agreement, refused to pay.
Caruso’s representative told the media that Caruso asked the court to revise the children’s custodial schedules last month and that this lawsuit was Marquez’s retaliation for Caruso’s action in the family court.
